The Future of Finance is Female

Women are taking control over family cash, new research reveals.

When it comes to managing money, is it you or your partner that wears the financial trousers? Gone are the days when men took sole control of the family purse stings and their influence on money matters is only likely to diminish.

More women than men will make the big household financial decisions by the middle of this century, according to a new report by the Future Foundation for NS&I.

In 1957, women's wages were far lower than they are today, and were often considered a mere supplement to the household income. While women's incomes have traditionally been curbed by their role as a "stay at home" parent, this looks set to change.

But how far are things set to change? Find out and join the debate for a live webchat with William Nelson from the Future Foundation and Gill Stephens from NS&I where they will reveal the results of a new Future Foundation report on the subject.

Join them live online at www.webchats.tv on Friday 3rd August at 3pm.
